The first of the blocked shawlettes! This one is an Afternoon Tea knit in Tosh Sock, colorway Robin's Egg. It was a quick knit, and a fun and relatively easy pattern. I used most of the yarn, so I probably wouldn't try to knit this pattern with much less than 400 yards. I actually wasn't sure that this was my color when I was knitting it, but now that it's done I really like it! It's definitely expanding my color palette, but I don't think that's a bad thing.

Do you wear shawls often? I always love how they look but since they don't really fit into my everyday wear I'm always hesitant to make them.
ReplyDeleteI do! I've found that shawls are great to wear as scarves in air-conditioned offices, or tucked under cardigans or jackets during the winter. I almost always wear them bandit style - point in front and ends wrapped around the neck, either loose or tucked under the body of the shawl.
ReplyDeleteThat's cool. I guess I'm usually warm, even in the winter, or at least I was until last winter, when suddenly the cold felt really cold. Either way, I don't wear too many scarves or even that many layers. Still, maybe I need to be making more utilitarian shawls. Or maybe just less frilly.
ReplyDeleteThis FO looks fantastic! I love the ways you wear your shawls - very inspiring. I also saw this video a few months back and found it a fast, super-inspiring brain jogger on all the ways I'd never considered wearing shawls and scarves that I now want to try: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5LYAEz777AU
