You know those days when you don't feel like you've gotten anything done, but then you look back and realize that you've finished five or six different things that you hadn't even thought about yet, but you were so preoccupied with "the plan" not getting done that you didn't notice that you went above and beyond it?
Yeah. Me too.
Yesterday was tiring and stressful, with some setbacks and a lot of forward progress. I started playing with (and cutting) real fabric, which was exciting! I also realized that my neckline was wrong, and my iron peed on some georgette, and I felt like I was gonna barf pretty much all day. So there's that. (I'm guessing that last one contributed to the overwhelming mediocrity that I felt yesterday - at least, until I realized how much frigging work I'd actually done.)
In happier news, here's the magical vintage dress in action! I'm really glad I wore it yesterday, because it was boiling hot upstairs at school. I bought it a few years ago as-is, and finally fixed some ripped seams and did some fit adjustments to the bodice. I always feel a little weird about meddling with vintage garments, but this one turned out really well.
Today it's onward to cutting out the bodice in crepe back satin... wish me luck!
Happy Wednesday,
Cory
