In the midst of all of my finishing, I tried to remember that I needed to start some new projects at some point too. About three years ago, I found myself in a place where I had finished all of my works in progress, and I didn't have a single project to work on! I had to frantically dig through my stash and start something new. And that's when I knew I was a deeply non-monogamous knitter.
I started this sweater, which I'm calling Provence - actually the "Lace Scarf" Cardi, from Classic Elite's booklet #9112 Gallery - yesterday afternoon, and happily knit away on it while watching Dawson's Creek for what was somehow the first time in my life. I swear, I did grow up in the '90s!
I'm using a different yarn than the pattern calls for - still Classic Elite, but instead an alpaca-linen blend called Soft Linen in a gorgeous shade of lavender. There aren't very many versions of this cardigan on Ravelry, but I really love the shape of it, and I'm interested to see how this fabric ends up draping. I've been planning this project for months, but it wasn't until yesterday that I finally worked up the nerve to cast one 350-odd stitches. It's going pretty quickly now, and I'm hoping that maybe I can break my curse of ill-fitting and/or long-languishing sweaters!

OH!!! I have always eyes that yarn! I would like to see how its working up and its feel. Its a beautiful color!!!
That is a fantastic purple! I would love to feel the yarn - I'm not a huge fan of alpaca but lately I've been intrigued by hemp or linen blends. Also, we are so different. I feel straight up guilty and uncomfortable when I have more than one project on the needles.
